Damari origin and meaning

Modern — origin uncertain

Uncertain — Damari is a modern name variously connected to the Greek name Damaris, to Amari, or built on the De-/Da- prefix pattern of its era; no source is documented

Damari appeared in 1999 and peaked in 2016, one of the melodic three-syllable coinages of its period. Damaris — a woman of Athens in the Book of Acts — is the oldest name it resembles, and some families do intend that link, but the name's spread follows the modern Amari/Demari sound pattern rather than the biblical one. It has been falling since its peak.
