Anastasia origin and meaning
Greek
From Greek anastasis, 'resurrection' — ana, 'up', plus stasis, 'standing'
Anastasia is the feminine of Anastasius, a name given by early Christians in honour of the Resurrection and borne by a saint martyred under Diocletian. It became a signature name of the Russian imperial family. In the US its modern peak came in 2018, helped by the Fifty Shades heroine, and it has eased slightly since.
